Stack By Step
How to build the perfect stack in just a few steps
A few things that have eased my worries about my postpartum baby bump has taking significantly longer to disappear, have been chic work out wear (with lots of lycra!) and a one on one work out with my friend and health guru Melissa Wood-Tepperberg. I’ve never been one to suck down lots of green juices, and definitely have never had super long lean lines… I mean I’m 5’4” so I can only get so long. But Melissa’s energy is infectious and so are her workouts so it seemed like the perfect idea to get together, catch up, laugh at my inability to get on board with inhaling Vegan Cheese with Meliss and her side kick Dylan (sorry guys I need the real stuff),…… and yes doing a flow together.
For those of you who don’t already know MWH, it’s ok just scoooootch right out from that rock you been living under and head over to her site here. You can check out our postpartum work out, which is still totally appropriate if you weren’t living with a watermelon in your belly the past year, and while you’re there you can fall in love with all of her monthly flows to start getting your own long lean lines. And if you’re anything like me, you’ll want the full outfit to go with it, so I’ve shopped out some of my favorite pieces to get the look of our workout below!
I can’t get enough of tie dye pieces that look sophisticated. Not just a tee shirt, but a silk skirt, ruffled crop top… you know what I mean. Since this trend is probably going to be over in about 2 minutes I thought I’d pull together some of my favorites that I’m either shopping or just holding hostage in my online carts right now. And since I couldn’t find a few of the pieces I was eyeing up, I decided to give Tie Dying a try on my own. You can shop my favorites or watch me make my own, all below
Each Season I like to invest in a few good key pieces that are are either trend based or a good basic (perfect white tee anyone?!) that I know I will wear over and over. Once on repeat, I can build an entire summer wardrobe on these key pieces all season long for both myself and my mini.
Take a look below as some of my favorites that I’ve bought for our closets so far and ones I’m still thinking about hitting the complete purchase button on. And you can see even more on IGTV.
I’m not sure what it is but lately my feed and the people on the streets around me have all be filled with knotted headbands. This headband really isn’t a new trend. I remember calling in tons and tons years ago for various shoots. It came in hard with all of the Gossip girl excitement when Jennifer Behr was the “IT” headband. And then it just sort of never fully faded out. But for some reason it has just had a major surge and I’m not mad at it. At first I thought, oh man I’m not sure I could really rock one of these in real life without looking like I was trying to hard. I’m pretty extra sometimes but not that extra. And then one day I was like, hey I’m trying it. I have a peanut head that usually doesn’t work well with headwear but who cares I’m doing it! So I bought about 10 of them to give them a try throughout a week of my normal life. Grocery store runs, post gym coffee dates, brunch and work all mixed pretty well with the satin, leopard and bold green that I tried. I think it’s safe to say that this is my new favorite, not so new trend!
Neon isn’t surprising in spring & summer but not always the norm when it comes to coxy winter wear. Oversized sweaters, full monochrome looks and tons of neon accessories are in full effect this winter and it’s just the right thing to get you through these last couple weeks of snowy season! I’ve pulled a few chic ones to shop below that work for now and will easily change over into spring outfits too.
The Maternity I’m loving and the pieces I’m dreaming about post baby
I never dreamt that wearing tight athletic wear with a bump would actually make me feel sexier than my normal clothes but somehow it manages to motivate me and make me feel strong every time I waddle my way to the gym. I’m so happy I discovered these few maternity brands for the stylish comfort but soooo looking forward to shopping the others to get into post baby shape. It’s hard to pick but here are just a few of my favorite new pieces below to keep you looking chic while breaking a sweat.
I love watching the red carpet for every award show and waiting to see how each stylist comes up with the perfect look for every celebrity. I also use it as a jumping off point for inspiration for my real life. Think of it as super high glam street style…. Even though these gowns are suuuuper glam and formal they all boil down to a similar and more basic version when you throw them on with jeans and head out the door. Red carpet style can actually be injected into your real life I swear! Below are 3 of my favorite trends I saw on the red carpet this past Sunday at the Oscars and a few pieces to shop out the same vibe for your every day life. I mean really who doesn’t want to feel as good as a star walking the carpet everyday?!
Matte and Sleek

Slip dresses are my favorite, all year round. This new ATM on has been my favorite and my go to for pregnancy dressing. It hugs my bump in all the right places and is still comfortable. I cannot wait to wear this post pregnancy too. Especially with a tan in the summer!
The ones Worth the splurge
My repeat piece of fashion advice to all of my mama-to be friends about is that the most important piece to buy in a maternity wardrobe is denim. And not just that, but premium denim that you’ll spend a little extra cash on. Here’s the reason… Premium denim brands are the gurus of denim so you know the cut, the fit and the material will be top quality (they know what they’re doing!). Most likely you’ll be wearing these jeans over and over again so you’ll want the quality to be the best so that they last and you’re not stuck restocking. The other positive is that the quality of denim plays a huge part in the stretch. You are going to be growing at a pretty fast rate and you grow out of clothing so quickly that you’ll want something that really can grow with you and last you until the bitter end when leggings are the only thing you can stand to pull over that big bump!
With the help of my friends at ShopBop, I’ve been able to find the perfect maternity denim for both of my pregnancies. The selection is really big and the returns are always so easy that it makes trying on and decision making a breeze in the privacy of your own bedroom. In my experience, I’ve found some brands like Citizens of Humanity, Rag & Bone (a newbie on the maternity market!) and DL 1961 are all great for chic styles that were close to my regular jeans, but they ran a bit small and I grew out of them quickly.
I also went for the side panels instead of over the belly style because I like to style a lot of my tops with a small 1/2 tuck and wanted to continue to do so in my pregnancy. It was totally just a personal style choice!
Brands such as Paige and J Brand, just like their regular denim, were the best go-to classic skinnies for me. They have amazing stretch and lasted all through both my entire pregnancies. They never faded and really stayed looking nice considering I really am making them work hard every time I squeeze my big belly and butt into them.
Just like any denim, all brands/styles fit different bodies in different ways so you have to try on and decide for yourself. But I promise if you invest in about 2-3 pair (1 casual destroyed, 1 blue solid skinny & 1 solid black) you’ll be happy that you spent your money on quality over quantity.
I’m in the love with Statement coats right now and I had the opportunity to work with Good Morning America’s digital team to find the perfect one that looks great on a curvy, tall and petite body type. Check out this video below and shop it all on GoodMorningAmerica.com!

The best kind of dress is one that can take you from day, night, afternoon, after work, after beach, whatever. And even better... one that is super affordable to help justify those accessory splurges. This striped maxi dress can be worn everywhere this summer. Styled high or low it quickly transforms into whatever look you need on that day and has all the "go with the flow" vibes you want to live in throughout the summer. It's easy and chic so just keep it on repeat!

EDITOR PICK: Wanderluster
I discovered Wanderluster Jewelry years ago when prepping for a fun colorful photoshoot that called for lots of gems and chains. I knew I wanted something that was a good price point but at the same time lux all on it's own. I am still in love with this line today. If you're looking to splurge or just looking to treat yourself (and not skip next month's rent), Wanderluster should be at the top of your list!
Glitter All Year Round
When I saw these Isabel Marant glittered heels I knew it would be one of those things that if I didn't buy them I would seriously regret it. I also knew I'd never ever get sick of them and would probably still be shoving them on my foot in 20 years. I think everyone should have a pair of shoes living in their closet that scream "party". You'll wear them to dinner, to weddings and who knows maybe even with sweatpants... a little sparkle (or a lot) is timeless, season-less and will always make you happy.
